  • Environmental Sustainability

It's always the forefront of our thoughts

At Booknboots we are committed to minimizing the damage to our environment and the land that has been cared for by the traditional custodians for thousands of years. We strive to reduce our carbon footprint and re-use resources wherever possible. In essence, we aim to take the path which causes the least environmental damage.

Our Tiny Treasures Project is founded on our belief in the principles of sustainability. This had led to our prioritising the re-homing of preloved children’s picture books.

To date, our efforts have seen approximately 4600 kilograms of books diverted from landfills, giving them a second life. Where possible, The Tiny Treasures project will partner with the community and stakeholders to assist with the transport of books to Aboriginal communities.

To be sustainable in our ethos is a value shared by our board of directors and volunteers.

Books n Boots would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live, work, and learn. We would like to pay respect to elders past, present, and emerging and recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded.

It always was and always will be Aboriginal land
